Plush undersells what's under the coral fleece. The sponge here is dense enough that the seat doesn't bottom out an hour into a session, and the backrest clicks through fourteen locked positions, from near-upright to an 84-degree lean. Sit in it for two hours and the difference from a thin-cushion floor chair is obvious: this one holds its shape under you instead of slowly flattening into the rug.
That's most of why we recommend it ahead of everything else here. The rest is logistics. A 335-pound rating on a chair that weighs 10 pounds, a fold that comes down flat, and no assembly — it comes out of the box ready to sit in. If your setup is a TV on a stand and a rug, this is the seat that makes the floor feel deliberate rather than improvised.
One thing to know about the mechanism: the angle is set by hand with the chair empty, so you can't sink back mid-game and have the back follow you. We came to prefer that. The backrest stays exactly where you left it when you shift your weight to reach for a controller, and the click is loud enough that you know it caught.
Pros
- Dense foam that resists bottoming out
- Fourteen locking backrest positions
- 335-pound rating on a 10-pound chair
- Arrives assembled and folds flat
Cons
- Shorter track record than the older GIANTEX picks
- Coral fleece runs warm in a closed room
The one we point most people to: dense padding that doesn't bottom out, a backrest that locks anywhere from upright to a deep lean, and it arrives assembled.
