Best Overall
AVANTEK CB-11 Wireless Doorbell
Key details
- Kit
- 1 button + 1 plug-in receiver
- Range
- 1,000 ft
- Melodies
- 52
- Max Volume
- 115 dB
The receiver goes straight into an outlet and the button arrives already paired, so the only decision on install day is whether to use the adhesive pad or drive the two included screws. No wiring, no app, no fishing a dead transformer out of the wall. We point people here when they have lived with a broken wired doorbell for a year because the alternative sounded like an electrician's job.
Loudness is where it earns its keep. The chime tops out at 115 dB with five steps below that, and the lowest is quiet enough that a napping baby two rooms away will not stir. The 52 melodies are mostly novelty, and we dare anyone to leave the horse neighing, but the plain two-tone bell is in the list, and both the melody and the volume survive a power cut without a reset.
The button is rated IP55 and specified from -4°F to 140°F, which is the part that matters on a door facing the weather, and an LED flashes as it rings for anyone who is hard of hearing. Setup is the same story as the rest of the kit: nothing to configure. On brick or stucco, skip the adhesive pad and use the screws.
Pros
- Arrives paired; no wiring or app
- Five volume steps, down to a hush
- IP55 button rated from -4°F to 140°F
- Keeps melody and volume after a power cut
Cons
- Ships with a single receiver
It is the one we tell people to buy when a wired chime dies: pre-paired, no electrician, and a button that shrugs off rain and freezing nights.
